Highlights: Previous Initiatives and Research

Massachusetts Survey Research

For more than 25 years, Mass Insight, in partnership with Opinion Dynamics Corporation (ODC), conducted quarterly public opinion surveys. Topics include consumer confidence, state government performance, economic competitiveness, healthcare, education and higher education.

Mass Insight Education

Bill Guenther split his time from 1997 to 2016 leading Mass Insight Global Partnerships, focused primarily on promoting university partnerships and technology-based economic development, and Mass Insight Education and Research, which organized the major schools-business campaign supporting the introduction of the Massachusetts academic standards and testing program (MCAS) which vaulted the state to first in the nation for academic performance.

Following the MCAS campaign, Mass Insight Education conducted research and launched school district partnerships to “raise the floor” by turning around failing schools and to “raise the ceiling” for underserved students and close achievement gaps. With a $13 million, five year grant and state and private matching funds Mass Insight Education and Research launched a Massachusetts Advanced Placement STEM+English program successfully supporting 10,000 under-served students in urban and rural high schools annually that played a significant role raising the Commonwealth to first in the nation for AP participation and performance.
